Rene Lapierre

René graduated from Cambrian College Ambulance and Emergency Care program (French section) in 1992 where he then started working as a Paramedic across various Cities in Ontario. In 2001 he graduated from Hamilton Health Sciences Corp (McMaster University site) where he received his diploma as Advance Care Paramedic. Since the start of his career as a Paramedic, René has provided front line Prehospital care for 23 years. In 2002, was hired full time as faculty professor for Collège Boréal in the Paramedic Program and in 2007 he took on the role of program Coordinator. In 2005 he and his Nursing Colleague founded the Boreal Sim Center. Since then he has taken multiple courses in simulation including the Level II Simulation Specialist Instructor Trainer from the International Academy for Clinical Simulation & Research University of Miami. In 2014 he was elected as one of the Ward councillor for the City of Greater Sudbury. He is passionate about simulation and enjoys seeing the students immerse themselves into the simulations for their learning.
